Question about 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Truck

1 Answer

Not starting 2002 Dodge with a diesel wont start when parted on incline. It just turns over and wont fire. I have to roll it down the hill for it to start. I had it into a dealership to look at it and they cant find anything wrong with it. The lift pump has been upgraded already. Any help

May be a weak fuel pump. my buddy was having a similar problem where his would stutter on a hill and it was the fuel pump. perhaps the injector pump also. not sure on that one but just a suggestion.

Why will car not start from key? Just turns over until battery drained, seems too sluggish to start

Has the fuel pressure been tested? Are you sure the ignition starter switch is ok and doesn't have an open that causes a stall out when the key is released. We do not have the diesel engine in this country so repair info is limited. You need to stop guessing and consult an expert, you have replaced parts that I would never replace for this kind of issue, a total waste of money and your time.

My 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse died at stop sign and then wouldnt start doesnt even click . Tried to jump it and still didnt start Rolled it down a hill and it started . But will not start on its own.

if its a manual transmission...then it should be the starter is bad...
thats why when you rolled it down the hill it started...
so for sure the starter is the problem...
the average price on the starter for your car is $100 - $150
Good luck!

Oil ran out while driving..plug had came out. put oil & plug in & truck will not start. 2002 ford f250

You ran the truck out of oil? If so then you have seized the engine up and it wont start again. If your lucky the engine could be rebuilt using the same block but the internals will all need to be replaced.

I HAVE A 2001 AZTEK AND WHEN ON AN UPHILL INCLINE STOPPED, YOU MUST KEEP FOOT ON BRAKE OR VEHICLE WILL ROLL BACKWARDS

This is normal, depending on the depth of the hill. This is frequent with standard/manual cars on uphills, they can roll back, but with automatic vehicles they usually have a small amount of throttle, (you'll notice this when putting your vehicle from park into drive with your foot off the break, it'll start slowly moving forward)
Now on the hill, if it's a steep incline your car will move backwards, it all depends on how high your throttle (the car itself) is, and the incline depth of the hill.
