Question about 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer
I've just replaced my battery in my Lancer due to the car hesitating to start over the past few weeks. I figured that a cell in the battery could be dying and decided to buy a new battery and change it so as not to get stuck somewhere if the car wouldn't start. After I replaced the battery, I took the car for a ride.
It seemed fine until I stopped at a stop sign. The car hesitated, seemed jumpy, and then seemed to want to completely die out. It started right back up, but each time I came to a stop, the car hesitated and continued to want to die out.
Any ideas as to what is causing this? I had no problems with the car before I changed the battery, thus the reason that I believe the battery replacement could possibly have to do with the sudden problem. Though I suppose it could be a coincidence that something else has gone wrong at the same time.
Unhook the battery again then when you start the vehicle make sure a/c is off and let it idle for ten minutes the ecu has to relearn idle. If idle continues to act up clean the throttle plate area and do relearn over again

Something else is wrong with the car now,. the battery took care of the starting problem but you may want to have the alternator looked at as well. but what its doing now is a separate issue

Hi! You may have a faulty MAF (mass air flow) sensor. The MAF has big contribution on engine performance specially on the idling. Once replaced you'll be good. Hope this helps and have a good one!
