Have the crank sensor checked, some times a generic scan tool or code reader will pull a code but list cam sensor and then when code is read with a gm tool it reads crank sensor, can you give me the code #?
you may also have a wiring problem to cam sensor or faulty ecm or bcm. ( computer) engine control module) good day
but still have the crank tested ,good day

Still sounds like a fuel problem. Try a full tank of supreme gas, plus put a can of SEAFOAM into the tank to help clean you injectors. See if this will help clear up your problem. Did you change the plugwires????

I would also check the fuel filter, if it is beginning to stop up the car will run fine at low speeds but run out of fuel at higher RPM's/Speeds.

SOURCE: engine light on 2002 mazda protege is on even after changing o2

Try cleaning the Mass Airflow (MAF) Sensor. My 2002 Protege check engine light came on and it started stalling at stoplights if I didn't keep the engine revved a little. Manager at AutoZone checked the computer code for the light (P0171?), and it said it was running lean. He suggested I try the MAF sensor cleaner they have ($6.99) rather than replacing the 02 sensor, etc.; it made a *significant* difference. (I think I need to do it again to get it totally cleaned out, but the can is for at least 4 cleanings.) The MAF sensor is the large component that air goes through right after the air filter. If you don't have the repair manual for the car (search online for PDF's), you search for the part online to see what it looks like. Mainly, it's a tube about 4" across with some small wire things inside. The cleaner can said it was a 10 minute job; mine took 20 minutes, but only because the tube leading from the MAF sensor to whatever is next (a kind of bent elbow tube, with a couple of accordian-style ripples) tore, and I had to duct-tape that up to seal it. (Still haven't gotten that replaced - found them online for ~$40. Maybe this weekend...)

A 2002 Nissan Sunny stalls but restarts immediately, no codes, drives fine but stalls when coming to a stop sometimes.

Hi,

Please check that you've used a professional code reader like the one offered through auto zone free diagnostic. I think that you should look into having your alternator and engine checked. If those are fine, then I would move on checking the battery as it could be run low.

Thank you.

starting definately has a lot to do with the crank/cam position sensors, but it wouldnt have nothing to do with hot or cold weather, oxygen sensor will make the vehicle run too rich if its out, you will smell fuel very strong out the exhaust, that could make it run sluggish also, and usually if the mass air flow sensor goes out the vehicle wont start at all...

Code P1391 Loss of crank or cam sensors,P0340 No cam signal at the pcm. I would replace the crank sensor first. Your cam sensor is part of the dist. on 5.2/5.9 engines.
Hope that helps.
