Hi; I have a 280 SLK, 2007. The driver seat does not move back and forth and seems to be stuck. The right side of the seat moves (and hence skews forward) but the left side remains stuck. Perhaps...

Just repaired that same problem on my the old ladys 2007 slk 280. Found flexible cable similar to that of a speedometer cable pulled out of end of seat motor. Feel around underneath seat towards back of seat for loose end of flex cable and simply slip it back in the slot at the end of motor

I need to replace the front driver side seat in my 1990 240 dl. Will any model year fit or do I need a seat from a 1990 240 dl?

I believe that any 240 seat will fit. You actually want an older one. I think '89 or '90 was the year when they switched to lighter tubing. The '90 through '92 seat frames are nearly all tweaked, and sometimes crack.
If you don't buy new foam, try covering the foam with denim from old blue jeans, fastened on with spray on adhesive. That will keep it from crumbling on the seat springs.

I have a 1998 clk230 .The drivers seat control button will only move seat forward when presed for backward.consequently the only way to get the seat to go backward is to press the memory button .

You may need to run the seat all the way forward then all the way backwards in order to resyncronize the seat. If that doesn't fix the problem then most likely the seat switch is faulty. I've seen this problem several times with the clk and the e-class.

My driver side seat will not move forward or backward

Can you hear the motor turn when trying to go back and forth? If not, motor may be faulty or bad relay in the wiring to that motor.
If you hear motor and seat doesn't move, then the motor may have fallen off track

Front seat is not moving

The d.c.m module( your seat switch) controls the window operation and seat operation. It also relays signals to other control modules on the data system. does any other components not work? You can unplug certain connecter but not the main can connecter to the data bus. For the hell of it check the fuses. I beleive your schematic is located in the left side of the dash(behind plastic cover) visible when door is open. If not refer to owner's manual where the fuse schemstic is. good luck

Passenger seat back will not move either direction

Motor on the seat may have gone out, contacts in switch got dirty or worn, or assembly reached limit and stuck. Try sitting in it pushing back hard and adjust. If not youll need to replace switch,b take seat apart to fix or replace.
