There are a couple of things to check.

Are you referring to all your lights or just your headlights. If it's just your headlights, I'm guessing base on age the bulb (12 years) may need replacement unless your already replace them.

If you are referring to your dashboard, there should be a turn knob to adjust the brightness.

I would also inspect the battery cables to make sure they are good and tight and clean. If a cable is loose or corroded it could cause electrical problems.

Also make sure your alternator belt is good and tight and not slipping...which you should hear a high pitched squeal noise. A loose belt will not turn the pulley on the alternator fast enough to produce the electricity needed by the battery.

Check for a possible faulty voltage regulator. Look to see if you have an externally mounted voltage regulator on the passenger fender and make sure that there are wires attached to it that go from the alternator to the battery. If so, you can buy a regulator at any auto supply shop and replace it yourself, just make sure you hook it up exactly as the old one.

If you are talking about the illumining lights on dash board, that can be turned up. If head lights are dim then you may need to have the charging system check should be at-least 14 volts with car running. You can take this vehicle to an Auto_Zone they would check the system for FREE. Good Luck contact me if you need more help.

I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer...a while back my CD player stopped working and then the radio button lights stopped working but radio works fine and then the lights on my door panel for the window and...

check fuse panel first for blown fuse, second check your daytime running lights come on without flickering. if problem persists- all these are affected by headlight switch- controls interior lighting and headlamps and daytime driving lights

Had a new battery installed today, now my headlights won't work, all other lights are fine. The headlight indicator is lit up on my dash.

Do you have the vehicle set up to run daylight running lights? If so, i believe on this model it uses the headlamp on a low intensity to do this. If these do not work then it could just be a coincidence and you want lamps (seems too much of one though doesn't it). If they DO light up to half intensity then it's another wiring issue somewhere. Do you have automatic headlamps that switch on when it gets dark on that model? it was an option.

If it turns out to be electrical based (the lamps are ok) then a disconnect of the battery for 10 minutes and then make sure everything is switched off before reconnecting MIGHT help.

I recently replaced the alternator and battery in

maybe something shorting out drawing power did u have alt tested before switching out to make sure it was bad- sum auto stores such as auto zone/advanced auto can do a load test on vehicle for free will show if their is an excess draw on elect or if new alt is faulty (does happen) check serpentine belt and pulleys belt may be slipping then check ground strap , starter for draw or some other accessory

2000 F150 parking lights and tail lights stay on

Are you sure they aren't the stoplights (brake lights)? There should be a stoplight switch connected to the brake pedal and replacing it would correct the problem. If it is the tail and parking lights, you must need a new switch that controls them. Signed, 64 year old car guy.
