03 taurus No ash tray light and my radio harness is ..

.. Here is the AM/FM Radio wiring

The radio needs a ground.
The illumination wire connects to the dash lights.

I see from a diagram it is a 5 amp fuse, and it is designated #13. I don't recall the color of a 5 amp fuse, 10 amp fuses are red, and 15 amps are blue, the two most common fuses. It only says it is in the fuse panel, and this same fuse supplies the prndl illum. light, the radio illum., the ash tray light, along with the 4 instrument cluster lights, and a couple of other lights on switches. So if the fuse is blown, you won't have lighting on any of the above things.

If it is not the fuse, you may have a couple or more bulbs burnt out in the dash, it shows there are four illumination bulbs. You have to pull the cluster out to check them, the only difficult part of the job. The power for number 13 fuse comes right from the main light switch, then to the dash and the other illumination lights, they all splice off from the fuse wire out to them. And they almost all share a common ground, so if any of them work, the ground wiring is probably good for all.

no where to attach them where ? on the radio, or the car harness? the car has the wire, so the radio doesnt use them? usually Yellow/ Red wires.

does all the other lights work on car if so its best to just replace radio the lights for that are internal better just liveing with out the lights for radio or open ash tray where you can see radio from ash tray light
