Assuming you have a 4.0 l6, order is 153624. #1 on cap is at about 4 o'clock when viewed from r/s fender straight on. next time, take wires off one at a time!!!

Firing order of a 1985 jeep pioneer 2.8L v6

The firing order for the Jeep 2.8l engine is:1-2-3-4-5-6
and the locations are:
on the drivers side front to rear 2-4-6
passenger side front to rear is 1-3-5
If you look straight back from the water pump to the distributor splitting the capcylinder #1 is the first one to the left.

The firing order is.... 1-5-3-6-2-4... If you need further help go to an auto supply supply store and buy a Sheldon's Repair Manual.

To avoid confusion, tag and remove the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement.
If a distributor is not keyed for installation with only one orientation, it could have been removed previously and rewired. The resultant wiring would hold the correct firing order, but could change the relative placement of the plug towers in relation to the engine. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes to reflect how your engine is wired.
