Question about 1999 Jeep Wrangler

Bad wheel or driveshaft

When accelerating, especially after 40 or so mph, regardless of what gear I'm in the car shakes almost to the point of falling to pieces. It stops when i reach a cruising speed and doesn't continue if I put the clutch down. If the clutch is down and i decelerate and then put the clutch back in the wobbling and clunking starts. I can only hear it from the drivers front side. Is it the case that its my driveshaft or is there something else im missing. I've had balancing and tracking done on it and that hasn't solved the problem! Car is a 1.9 DT Peugeot 306 (1996 P Reg).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!. Cheers..

Check wheel balance of all four tire would rule out wheels.

I would assume this is front wheel drive. Check front CV shafts for torn cv boots that would allow grit into cv joint.Check joint for play and wheel bearings.

Truck starts to shake at 40 mph gets to 45 mph then the shaking stops after 45 mph

Many possibilities. I would start with wheels, and take it to a well equipped tire dealer. Have them check that the wheels and rims are clean, properly torqued. Spin the wheels up to speed and check for dynamic wheel balance. Check for broken radial belts. Check for recalls on your tires. Check for driveshaft and universal joint damage/ balance.

Bad wheel bearing or out of balance wheel? Might bring it by an alignment shop and have them test drive it to pin point the problem.

My 2002 chevy impala shakes whem i accelerate the gas between 40-60 mph. I changed the tires and 2 motor mounts but it still shakes

When you changed your tires were the wheels inspected to make sure they weren't bent. If on of your wheels is bent even just a little it could cause your shake. You could try rotating the front ones to the back and see if it makes a difference. I would inspect your wheel bearings and front CV axles and joints. If one of those it bad it will cause your shake.

At 40 mph the car starts to shake. It last to 5o

I have this same car with exactly the same problem. Begins shaking at 40mph and stops shaking as soon as you let off the gas, but then begins again as soon as you press on the gas and smooths out as you get over 50. And the shaking is not felt through the steering wheel. Solution: Replace the transmission mounts. There are two of them, one on each side mounted on the frame right next to the shock strut. There is also a front and rear engine mount, but I replaced the two as described and shaking is gone.
