97 bonneville cylinder 6

I was driving it for about 5 minutes and it was fine. but then i got to the highway and as soon as i accelerated to get on the highway from the on ramp it started shaking. i stayed around 50 and after about 30 seconds the check engine light started to blink. the car was shaking the whole time i was driving until i pulled over. i read it and it said cylinder misfire 6. what does that mean? what are the possibilities of it being a fuel pump? i recently got my fuel pump changed 6 months ago

I would say a zero chance of the fuel pump being the cause.
Could be the spark plug, wire or coil - or a vac leak or the fuel injector.

The only thing left is the injector or a vacuum leak on the manifold gasket sucking air in and causing a lean condition. Thats is its the only common issue providing you dont have a head gasket issue leaking coolant on that cylinder and the compression and valves are not leaking. The old spark plug should show a coolant issue if present. The white part will be shiney if you have a coolant loss. If the coolant is looking real dark you should have the cooling system checked for gas being pushed into the cooling system on compression stroke thru the head gasket.

I was driving my 97 aurora which I just purchased off a 90 year old it has 59,000 kms I seen a "power" button on the shifter So I pressed it and ripped down the highway the check "engine soon light" came...

In the "normal" position, the transaxle shifts at lower engine speeds. The "power" position will give you better acceleration and cost you extra at the gas pump. With a check engine light coming on, yes you need to have things checked out.

I have a 97 ford f150 4.6l got gas started driving and it started missing than check eng. light started flashing than stayed on it has never done that till today

so sounds like you need either 1 or more ignition coils replaced, have it scanned to see which cylinder/cylinders it is,plugs should be replaced as well because of carbon tracks on the plugs...this will ruin new coils!

97 lumina, 3.1. Starts runs smooth, drive for 30

I just recently have been fighting the same problem with the same make/model/year vehicle. For myself, I would drive off and on through the day and it would run fine. Then suddenly after a start it would run rough and die. I would have to wait 20 to 60 mins before it would start again. I had it checked and fuel pump was only putting out around 19 psi. It should be around 41 psi. Had fuel pump replaced and no more problems. Furthermore, now it runs so much better. It's funny how over time I didn't notice how the performance was slowly degrading. Unfortunaley fuel pumps for this car run around $300.

95 maxima rough idle

The injector could definitely trigger a misfire code, but you also mentioned that you had a mass airflow sensor code , that code code be responsible for te sluggish moment of the vehicle and rpm going up and down. However if you have a misfire onCyl#6 and the coil and the plug is good the ONLY other thing to cause a mis-fire would be the injector. To check the injector get a NOID light, you can get one at almost any auto-parts place. To use unplug injector plug from the bad injector and connect it to NOID light the light should have a steady PULSE/ligt flickering. If light flickers fine then injector is bad and will need to be replaced. If light doesn't flicker or flickers intermittently then you may have a bad wiring to that injector. Check if wiring is good, then you may have a bad cam sensor or sensor gear. Good Luck and contact if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA

1995 pontiac bonneville stalls

I just went through lots of troubleshooting and expense on my 1996. Whenever I would lift my foot off the accelerator and was below about 30 mph, the rpm's would starts jumping around and sometimes it would stall. If I gave it a little gas (accelerator), I could sometimes keep it running. It also backfired once in a while. Starts right back up. Also, if I let it idle while in part, it would die after 1-2 minutes.

I ended up finding a hole in the fuel regulator. About a ~$70 part if you get an AC Delco, but very simple to change.
