Pontiac Bonneville Wont start and charge after i changed alternator

Check the wire from alternator to fuse box for a bad wire or a break in it. or corrosion on it. Battery cables loose or corroded. Is the battery ok!! check the main fuses in under hood fuse box. Good-Day! The charging wire goes to the fuse box first.

Daughter hit a curb with a ford focus 2005 now the battery wont stay charged. Replaced battery all was fine started the next day. After driving the car died nothing worked got a jump and car ran like no...

1. Check all the cable connections on the battery and on the alternator.

2. If they are all fine then have the alternator checked because from what you have described it is not charging. The usual problem is worn brushes in the alternator.

The battery wont stay charged

A simple test is to start the truck and the (be carful her) disconnect the Pos cable and see if stays running. If it shuts off when not connected it is the generator, alternator that has gone bad. See after the truck starts the truck should stay running on its own and also charge the battery. Hope this helps.

Detemined I had a bad alternator on a 2002 Hyundai Accent. After I changed it and got a jump the car would still not run. Should I put a battery charger on the battery to charge it fully?

You should have a qualified shop perform a charging system diagnostic on your car before buying any more parts. With a good alternator and jumper cables connected to a running vehicle, your car should stay running.

1998 chevy lumina want start changed starter and battery still want start turn key car dead want turn over can start with jumper swicth but want stay running

Have your alternator tested.Your car will not stay running if the alternator is not producing enough power to keep the battery charged. Also have your battery tested and fully charged.Make sure your cables are in good shape.
