Need to replace the blower motor on my 2002 silverado

I know where it is but dont know how to go about it

2002 silverado as follows :
1. if equipped , remove the sound insulator panel , remove the blower motor insulating cover screws , disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor , remover the blower motor insulating cover , pull the retaining tab down while turning the blower motor counter clockwise in order to disengage the blower motor from the HVAC module , remove the blower motor .
2. to install blower motor , reverse the steps .

Vent fan running all the time even with key out of switch


You have a bad blower motor relay, when the relay goes bad. It can freeze in the on position keeping the contact closed to run your blower motor. Inspect the blower motor relay and wire harness for any short due to burnt wire, this is a common issue with that year of Silverado's

Blower moter in my 2002 pontiac grand prix was workin on 5 only then quit all together.Replaced the blower resister today now only works on 5 and when on 1,2,3,4 automatic lights dont work.Any one know...


If the blower motor is bad ,this would happen ,the setting 5 gives it full voltage,but on the lower speeds lower voltage,and if the blower is bad,it will not run.

Fan motor doesn't work in position 1 or 2 but works in3,4,5


Probably the blower motor resistor pack has gone out.

Matney 68told me how to replace my blower motor.


under the right side of the dash there is a plastic panel. remove that & you will see the blower motor

Blower motor resistor,you need a new 1. It is close to the blower motor in the black casing.

I had a truck about the same year with the same problem, it was the wiring harness, but id check the resistor and the fan first before replacing anythings,
