Question about 1997 Ford Contour
My 97 contour died going down the road; cranks but won't start; I am suspecting the fuel pump; 70k miles; where should I begin to determine the root cause of the problem?
Open the air cleaner and look down into the intake while someone else is turning over the car. Is their gas or gasoline vapor being put into the engine or not? If yes then I take a philips screw driver on the end of a spark plug wire while some one else is turning it over, to see if it has any spark. I woudl gues 90% or all non start but cranking problems are going to be in one of these two areas.
