Question about 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse

I have a 95 eclipse and i cant set the timing belt , dont have a manual and theirs no marks to show where it should be set at , can anyone help me?

First, go get a Haynes manual. There are marks. You must do everything exactly right and align all marks or the results will be catostrophic. While you are at it I would suggest changing belt, pulleys, tensioner and water pump, unless you want to do it all again next month.

You must remove the timing belt and reset all positions carefully taking care to not bend valves when turning engine. It is already possible you may have bent valves

I'am trying to set the timing for a 96 mit.eclipse


you have to line up all 3 of your tjmjng marks.Is your engine single head or double overhead cams The marks have to line up.Firstyou have to remove the belt.Then remove harmonic balancer to get to the timing gear sprocket.It has a blade attached to it with 3 fins in between the fins is a little dip that is the crankshaft position.align that dip with the mark below the crankshaft position sensor.then you have to do the same with your camshafts.Then replace the belt and spin the the crankshaft clockwise to the aligment mark they should all stop on their marks.

Timing belt broke on a 95 ford ranger.new belt


you have to line up the two marks on the gears and set the tension to the correct setting. then check the marks again. trial and error. i just did my timing belt on my ranger haha

What motor and year? If it is the Ej 25 DOHC all the marks are on the cam sprockets except the crank is marked in the block almost straight up, Just a small notch. Good luck and hope this helps. Have a good day.
