Tranny fluid is good, car gears operate fine. trouble is very sluggish acting shifter. don't wanna put lots more money into it w/125 k on it but it's a good car and would like to keep it going (very little else wrong with it)
I'm guessing shift linkage but don't have access to a lift, etc.
Try spraying all pivot points on linkage with wd40 or similar spray lube. Make sure nothing is rubbing against linkage that could be causing binding. Shift cable may be internally worn... if that's the case, you can shoot some lube into it where the cable goes into the casing, but generally it needs to be replaced.

The shifter was jammed either to far up or to far down or possibly both and now the gears are just a little sloppy
