2004 Chevy Impala Keyless Entry System Stopped Working
About 2 weeks ago the keyless entry system just stopped working. I can't find a manual that troubleshoots that system. I think it's a relay, but which one? It's not listed in the fuses and relays. Help!

Is this an issue with all 2008 HHR remotes??? Highly doubtful , probably the vehicles keyless entry system . Taking the vehicle to a qualified repair shop an having the keyless entry system checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Do you know what a DTC is ?
The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors, or release the rear compartment lid when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message to the BCM. A low transmitter or vehicle battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following components:
• Door locks
• Liftgate lock
• Remote rear doors (Panel only)
• Vehicle locator/panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR
You should have it scaned to see if you have any codes. It has a RCDLR (remote control door lock reciever) this is the module that recieves the signal from the fobs. If it has a problem then the system will not work. If it has to be replaced then a dealer will have to program it for you. Good Luck
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU MIGHT WANT TO REPROGRAM THAT KEYLESS ENTRY FOB.. JERRY
.Turn the ignition to ACC or ON and the radio to off. Do not crank the engine.
2.Press and hold the DISP button on the radio for at least five seconds until settings is displayed. 3.Press the SEEK up or down arrows until FOB PROG appears on the display.
4.Press the PREV or NEXT button to enter the submenu. The current selection will have an asterisk next to it. BEGIN will be displayed.
5.Press the DISP button to start programming. When the message PUSH FOB flashes, press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the first transmitter at the same time for 15 seconds. A chime will be heard to verify the transmitter is learned. 6. Repeat Step 5 for each additional transmitter up to four remotes total. You do not need to press the DISP button again, just press down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the next transmitter to be learned to a maximum of four transmitters per vehicle.
The mode you selected is now set. You can either exit the programming mode by following the instructions later in this section or program the next feature available on your vehicle.
EXIT (Exit Feature Customization Mode): This feature allows you to exit the vehicle customization programming. To Exit: 1. Scroll until EXIT appears on the display. 2. Press the DISP button to exit programming. A chime will he heard to verify the exit.
You might try Opening the Door and Opening the Hood and Disconnecting the Battery. This should reset the System. If this is the Factory Keyless Entry, There is a Relay and a Fuse for this. Check them and see if they are Bad or Blown.
