Most likely your hypothesis is correct. The reason being is that when the door is in opened position the wire pulls apart and separates and shorts the connection . Go to your nearest wiring/Audio shop they can troubleshoot your problem GOOD LUCK!!

No Power Door Locks, Drivers Power Window Not Working

I guess it's just me, but, I don't like taking battery cables loose. I know sometimes it works.
Did you check voltage at proper fuse circuits, use a testlite.
You may have to check proper wire colors in wire harness on hinge side of driver door. You open and shut the driver door so much, sometimes those wires break. I'm talking voltage and ground. The info I looked at was for two door version.

90 f150 small clip for hot cold air flow fell off whe does it go

Look around on the drivers side under the dash where your heater control box is, For a cable that come off, The clip thing does not make sense to me unless it has to do with keeping the cable in place, Does the clip look lke it is broken at all. Because i will sware on a bible your cable come unhook from your heater box. There is a door what (opens) end (Closes) inside the heater (Box) end controls the air (Flow) If you are getting cold air (Blowing) the door is staying open, The cable is what opens or closes it.

2003 chevy tahoe heat and air fan runs with key off

does it still stay on after you open the driver door?, the tahoe keeps power going for a while or until you open the door, you can listen to the radio without the key on if it was on at the time you turned the vehicle off, i don't know how long you owned the vehicle you probably already know about the door killing power with key off. you'd be surprised at how many people don't know that have them/

Driver window switch not working

That buzzing sound was probably a short circuit in the switch panel. You will need to take the door card out and replace this panel. First check the fuses though. You may have blown a couple of extras because of the short. Did the door get wet on the inside somehow?

Short in electrical system

The electrical wires going to the power windows and speakers and locks all go through the A pillar and into the door down by where the hinges are at. When you open the door you will see what looks like a boot between the door and the A pillar, this is where the wires run through. After a period of time these wires inside this boot can become chaffed or broken and can short out and cause the problem you are having. You need to open the door and pull the boot towards the door exposing the wiring. You will need to inspect these wires very carefully and check for chaffing or broken wires and repair. The hardest part is finding the bad wire on this job. You might have to remove the drivers side kick panel and look where they come thru the A pillar. Hope this helps.

After alarm goes off, all electrical works except car won't start

hi there
from what it sounds to me is that the alarm is still in anit theft mode
i had this happen to my vehicle

one thing you can try is lock all the doors try and unlock from the passenger side make sure that all the lock come up to the top where they should be
then try it

if that does not work then lift up the rear of the car like it was being towed and it should reset the alarm
short of that you will have to have alarm shop come to you
