Question about 2004 Ford F150

I hit a puddle and now my truck won't run

I have a 2004 F150 5.4L and the other night (it was a fairly cold night) I hit a big puddle on the highway, the truck almost immediately stalls, i get it going and it runs rough for a bit but eventually clears its self out. I get home shut the truck off and when i go out in the morning and start it, it only runs for a few min and shuts off. if i try to start it immediately after it stalls it wont start, but, if i give it a little while it will fire up and run for a couple and than it stalls again. The only thing it says when it shuts off is check gauges.

Take a heat lamp or a small electric heater with blower and set it up near your ECM {computer} let it sit there about a day. Remove heat source and start it up.

Use a heat gun to dry off all ignition components. If that doesn't do it, start looking into a partially "Hydro Locked" Engine.

"Hydro Locked" means that the cylinders are full of water and not moving. You didn't state if you heated all the ignition parts with a heat gun? You must do that first. Also remove all the drive and spark plugs and crank the engine and let me know if you see any fluid coming out of the spark plug holes.

Generally speaking you need some kind of engineers certificate to confirm the repair does not affect the safety of the car so the first mechanic is correct. It should be repairable probably worth seeing an engineers workshop or car body repairer most mechanics would run from this one too hard for them.

need to check fuel pressure, not just listen for pump to run, also check reading on coolant temp sensor, but sounds like fuel pump /filter issue. just because you hear pump run doesnt mean its putting our right amount of pressure. also check for plugged catylic convertor

2004 Chevy Impala Power Steering gone

If it is a line no it usually isn't big or expensive. If it is your pump that is expensive for the part but usually not to bad to do. But first see if it is that or if you live where it is really cold it could have just overflowed.
