I had the same issue, the window was stuck down. I removed the door panel and then the window motor after I noticed that the cable that works the window regulator came off the spool and was badly tangled most likely the same issue for you. Probably need a new motor and assembly. Even though the motor works it is just easier to replace it all and doesn't cost any more.

You can get a used motor from a salvage yard just hook it up to a battery first to see if it works going up and down before installing into your car

the motor is holding it in place you the only way to get it up if the motor itself is bad and you don't wanna replace it right now you can unbolt the window off the regulator and put the window up and jam it in place with something but the motor should be pretty easy to replace

If neither switch works it is a bad connection at the motor or bad ground or a bad motor. Remove the door panel unplug the motor push the switch and see if there is 12volts on the wires if there is the motor is bad There are small brushes in the motor that go bad tap on the motor while pushing the switch if it works that way replace it

I have a ford f150 and window went down 2 inches with the switch and no i cant get it to roll up or down, looked at switch its all together. wigled wires around that didnt work. wondering if anyone knows...

Chad , using a test light check for voltage at he switch when pressing up or down. If you have voltage, you probally have an open winding in the motor or a dead spot.. [Im serious] Try smacking the lower door with a RUBBER mallet to jar the window motor while hitting the up button. If the motor has failed completly, switching wires will not work.

A car I owned the left rear window did that. I could pull it up by taking a hold of it while another person held the switch. They told me the problem was the track was made out of plastic and it had broken. They had to replace the track. Yes it was expensive to repair but is ok now.

Power windows

You said the window went down, if it won't go back up, then either the motor in the door is defective or the window switch is, u did the switch so all that is left is the motor
