It was on a different car (an old Vauxhall) but I had that problem. The resistor on the back of the dial had blown - so the only setting that still worked was the one that didn't need the resistor (i.e. the full power option). My car was probably a bit older than yours so I don't know whether things are still that simple!

SOURCE: blower speed

you need to replace the blower risistor. it should be located very close to the blower motor. it usually has 3 wires that are in a row and one wire a little to the left of it but located on the same oval fixture. go to the auto parts place and buy one . this way you will no exactly what it looks like so you do not have to spend a lot of time and money researching it.

SOURCE: Heat/AC Blower fan speed only works on High

Alot of people have the same problem with the fan switch and blown bulbs. There really is no fix for this. Jeep really screwed up when designing the heater control assembly. The cheapest solution is to buy another unit off Ebay. Can always go to the dealer but be ready to PAY for there mistakes.

SOURCE: IAT location on my Scion XA

Your intake air temperature sensor is part of the MAF (mass airflow sensor) and located right off the air filter housing in the large tube going to the throttle body. Its held on with 2 screws and has a 5 wire electrical plug going to it.

My air conditioning does not blowing in my 2005 scion xa what do I check?

Check the blower motor first .Try the heater see if the fan works for that if so then the problem has to be with the AC unit not sending a signal to the motor .
However blower motors are funny they have a relay and they have resisters but the relay only controls the high speed and many times the problem is a bad connection to the motor or the resister so check and clean as best you can all connections with the motor on if it works even for a few seconds you know its a connection issue .

Air nor heat is working, not blowing at all

Check the fuses for the blower motor. Also the motor might have failed. You can check the motor voltage if you have a meter and locate the motor connection pigtail.

Why am I getting no heat or defrost from my 2005 scion xA

Check the heater flaps for operation, you may need to dive into the footwell with your head under the dash to do this. The option is the heater matrix is blocked. There is no real solution to this, only replacement. Or there has been air introduced to the water system and has airlocked the heater. If you don't know how to clear it, find a local mechanic or good DIYer. If you replace the coolant make sure there is sufficient antifreeze because water only corrodes the system and blocks the rads.

Heat and AC don't work on Scion xa 2005

I think what has happened is when the car was in the smash some of the air-con pipes have been damaged and after the repair they have been put back on, or even if they have been replaced my guess is the system has not been recharged, As for the heater maybe the pipes that go onto the blower box may not be attached properly which will send the heated air in another direction
