Question about 1997 Ford F350 Crew Cab
I have an 89 f-350 with a 97 7.3 liter power stroke in it. a line from the tranny cooler blew off one day and it lost quite a bit of fluid but i cought it befor it all came out i filled it back up and it worked fine for a couple of days then i was pulling a trailer like three days later and i stopped somewhere when i got back in the truck and started it up and went down the road the speedometer and odometer quit working and it started shifting had the overdrive light was also flashing i put in a new speed sensor, range sensor and changed the fluid and filter nothing has changed
There is a speed sensor on the top of the rear differential. either the sensor is bad or it has become unplugged. when the truck doesnt know how fast it is going, the trans goes into "limp mode" to protect itself...whic causes it to shift hard and if u look you'll notice the o/d light is blinking
