SOURCE: turns over but won't start after it sits for a day

I had a similar problem caused by humidity and a short in the distributor cap so replaced the distributor cap and rotor. Problem solved. Don't buy discount branded parts or you will have the same problem again in a few weeks. Really cheap price equals really cheap parts that will fail early.

SOURCE: 99 chevy suburban intermittenly not starting....fuel pump is runn

Unfortunately the fuel pump can still be bad. The pump has a check valve on it that wears out. The pump will continue to run but, struggles to supply enough fuel to start the engine. You can buy a fuel pressure test gauge from Auto Zone or that type of auto parts store and check the pressure. You can purchase a fuel pump from them too.

SOURCE: ran fine then would not start

If it has been rainy, snowy or wet at all were you live you will need to change the cap and rotor. These vortec motors with the horizontel cap are very well known for not starting when damp. Also while you have the cap off there are two holes in the bottom of the distributer with screens in them, clean these out or remove them to keep the moisture from returning.

Why won't it start first thing in the morning?

Sounds like the check ball in the fuel pump is stuck. Lets the fuel drain back to the tank. Turn it on and off three or for times before starting. This will get the fuel to the injectors faster.

That little slide on wire for the starter solenoid is the answer. Squeeze tight or replace with new and start! : )

I have a 1990 ford bronco and it will start fine in the morning after it has been sitting all night but once the motor worms up it becomes hard to start and some times won't start at all, then I let it sit...

If you mean "hard to start and sometimes won't start at all" because it doesn't turn over or doesn't turn over fast enough you need to replace the starter & solinoid.

Truck won't start

If it has a vortech V8 It has to have the right fuel PSI or it won't start. Also pick up in distributor could be causeing problem. Cross over style distributor cap also can cause problem. Out of oil? Fuel pressure regulator where found inside the intake manifold with injector cluster, if fuel psi regulator goes bad could be leaking fuel in intake causing oil to get deluted and burn.
