02 VW Jetta's sputtering, engine light flashing or on

Recently started, 4 cyl. automatic. Could I use fuel line cleaner (which I haven't done with this car), or is it the fuel filter, or something worse?

It hasn't stayed on consistently. Just started doing this on Wednesday. It does flash, or it stays on for brief stints.

I had the same problem with my 20th. it sounds like to me that your coil pack has crapped out on yo. so i would replace the coil pack wires and plugs and that shoud fix your problem

They can read the error code at the garage probebly its something with your ignition or your airflow mass meter it's breaks a lotte with these cars. if its replaced it will take about 2 days to ' learn ' (your computer take's the new values in its memory) this device.

Couple things you should consider, being that it is 6 years old (and roughly 80 thousand miles?) it might need new spark plugs, the cheaper alt. would be to run injector cleaner through it. only add the injector cleaner at the next fill up

1992 Chevy S-10 Pickup 4.3L 6 Cyl. Engine sputters

SOUNDS LIKE MAYBE FUEL FILTER NEEDS REPLACE, AND OR EVEN SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES. A GOOD TUNE UP. IF YOU RUN LOW OCTANE FUEL YOU MAY TRY A CAN OF OCTANE BOOST, OBTAINED THRU THGE LOCAL PARTS STORE, IN WITH THE NEXT FILL UP. IT WOULD PROB BE A GOOD IDEA TO GET SOME INJECTOR CLEANER AND PUT IT IN WITH YOUR GAS TO SEE IF THAT HELPS.

Turn ignition key but won't start..All power on, is it starter?

Can be a Junk Relay, access is limited, but giving the Starter a "crack" with a mallet, often cures the problem temporarily. But check the Battery terminals, and Cable to the Starter solenoid ,first for tightness and security.

My jetta sputters sometimes when im driving

I recently had a similar problem. I got my car scanned and needed a new catalytic converter. If its already starting to spit and sputter, you probably have 3-6 months to get this done. Mine plugged up one day, and just flat out would not drive anymore. This cost of this repair was about (i recommend changing the spark plugs and wires also) $675....pretty costly. could get a lot more expensive the longer u let it go. Does your jetta run cold, in cold temp? (between 25-40 degrees) if so the thermostat probably took out the converter.
