Putting the lower intake on my 1997 Ford Explorer 4.0 OHV sport .... I do have a 2000 5.0 ... @michaelheiland123654 To dothis job, you have to remove the alternator, unbolt the AC compressor, remove upper intake manifold, remove fuel rail,remove all injectors, ... If the engine displacement is the same then it will work, although you will have to change "ALL" electronic components on the engines from the 2000 engine to the 1997 engine as these components will be different. If you do not change them you will have several different problems. Most car manufacturers change their electronics year to year and sometimes even mid-year.
polarcycle is right but there is a speed sensor on the drivers side top of the trans. toward the tail shaft or transfer case. there is as well a sensor inside the trans. itself that is mounted on the web. behind the overdrive band and drum.
On the passenger side of the intake manifold, coming off the bottom
about the center of the engine front to back, you'll feel a hose that
comes off a nipple. That hose makes a 90 degree bend and goes around to
the rear of the motor. Where that hose meets the Y-connector from the
other side of the intake you'll find the PCV valve. It's almost
impossible to see it with the hood installed, and even tougher to reach
