Question about 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix
99 Grand Prix GTP. Engine is running really rough. Oil and coolant levels fine. No leaks. Service engine light comes on and then, under acceleration, blinks. Engine runs rougher under acceleration. Almost sounds like an exhaust problem but not sure. When the engine runs ok it starts to make a whining sound, almost like Fords do with their power steering pump. When it whines it starts to shift funny...
Any help out there?
The run rough problem is due a cyl.mis firing,it becaused buy a bad plug, plug wire, coil,or even the ing.module. the servive eng.light flashing is warning you that you have a cyl.misfire that can cause damaget to your catltic converter if you continue to drive it.with may lead to why you think you have a exhaust problem,it may be colgged.
