Question about 2008 Hyundai Accent

3 Answers

I want to get rid of the stupid door chime.

I know for most Ford vehicles, you can hit the buttons in a certain order to make the seat belt chime stop aggravating the **** out of you. I was wondering if there was one for a 2008 Hyundai Accent for the door and seat belt chime.

Help is greatly appreciated!

hi from uk please bear with me on this?? but the chime you mention should only sound if door is opened whilst side/tail lights are still on ? also if you have unwittingly left the switch for rear fog light in the on position ? chime will also chime and i assume you know that if this switch is on? the rear fog only lights when headlights are selected this is the normal operation on hyundais here in uk may i suggest you recheck switches to ensure they are in off position the chime is just a warning that a light switch is in on position but not necessarily lighting a lamp ? this chime is not connected to the seat belts as far as i know but there is a light comes on in red on the dash display if drivers seat belt is not used/connected into its lock ? hope this helps best wishes from n/west of uk

That door chime was driving me crazy too. It turned out to be really easy to pull the power cord from the chime. If you fold down the glove box by pulling the two plugs out from the inside, you can see the chime up behind the dash just to the left of the glove box. Just pull out the cord attached by removing the clip and you are golden.

Ahhhh. Sweet relief. I have been chime free in my accent for 2 months, and it makes for a much more enjoyable car.

Enjoy!

There is a pin on the inside of the driver's side door - covered with a black piece of rubber - We built up a layer of 2 to 4 pieces of duct tape on the swinging door to hold the pin tigher - every now and then you need to replace the duct tape -and just to everyone else - it was ringing with the seat belt on while driving sometimes - for hours!! I took it to the dealer and they had only a temporary solution - the bell will still ring when you leave the keys in the car by accident and if you don't put your seat belt on! Marsha
