Make sure to lubricate the pivots AND the spot where the drive arm comes out of the motor. Use a good grade of SILICON lubricant. Do not use WD-40. It will freeze. Good silicon will leafe a dry silicon residue that will not freeze up. There should be an upside nown funnel shaped piece of rubber or plastic, directly above the motor on the main shaft. This keeps water out of the tp of the motor.

IF THE WIPER SWITCH,HEADLIGHT SWICH & HEATER SWITCH ARE ALL LOCATED IN THE STEERING COLUMN,IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT.IT MAY HAVE BURNED OUT THE MOTOR BUT IF THAT DIMMING PROBLEM PERSISTS,HAVE THAT ONE CHECKED OUTBEFORE THE NEXT WIPER MOTOR GETS FRIED

SOURCE: 2008 dodge ram 4x4 1500. At idle wipers slow,

It shouldn't be. This would suggest that for some reason your alternator isn't performing at low speeds, especially if the problem goes away when you rev the engine up a little. I would check the connections at the alternator and battery to make sure they are tight and clean first. If you have to remove the battery cables to clean them be sure you know how to recode you radio first. That info should be in your owner's manual.
It could also be that there is not enough tension on your belt, or it could be the alternator itself. If the belt tension and alternator are both good, it should be putting out 14 Volts or a little better when the truck is idling.
You may also need to check the fan and the fan switch if everything else is good. They may be the source of the extra draw. Hope this helps.

Windshield wipers stopped working

First check the fuse, if its ok, than try to listen if the wiper motor is working, if you can hear it working than the last thing is to strip the front and check if the wiper links or pivots are in place. they do pop out after some years of service.

95 mercedes c220. Wiper hesitates and sometimes stops midway. Seems if I lubricate under the gasket, it works for a while and then returns to hesitation. How and what do I need to do to correct?

Take the cover off at the base of the wiper arm. There is a mechanical mechanism under there that causes the wiper to move out and in as it swings back and forth. Most likely it needs lubricated under there. Dont use w d 40 as it wont last long. Use a lightweight grease like silglyde, and coat all the moving surfaces. I did this to mine and havent had to touch it again for several years.

Windshield wiper failure on 98 Chevy Malibu

Hi, you wont be able to move the wipers manually as they will be locked by the motor. There is only two obvious reasons why the motor should fail again. The new motor was a poor quality replacement or there is an underlying problem on the car like the wiper motor mechanism has excessive play or is stiff/tight and over working the motor causing it to fail. you need to have a proper check over before swapping it again.

1996 Acura 3.2 TL windshield wiper problem

they have what one guy, I know called a small "transmision" that engages both wipers and the speed. On one car the winshield wipers transmission connections were loose. A small bolt came off.
Check all the workings by running the wipers .
Try to get to the wiper motor assembly and take a look at it. You may have to remove some screws.
