Test low pressure switch - 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

    The question didn't post right, I am trying to test the low pressure switch on the A/C system. I am getting an open reading on all three points and don't think that is right.

    I was not getting any error codes. Turns out the coil pack on the A/C compressor went bad. So far the A/C is working well. Thanks for the help.

Where is low pressure switch to recharge freon for a/c

What year an model Oldsmobile ? Relay switch , low pressure switch . You would hook up the refrigerant to the low pressure side of the A/C system . This still confuses me , relay switch . Back in the day ,at the dealer we would use a jumper wire to by pass the low pressure switch to kick in the compressor clutch to draw in the refrigerant . Is this what you want know where it is or the low pressure side fitting where you hook up the refrigerant charge to . If you have not done this before I suggest you take it to a shop that does A/C testing . Your vehicle may need more then a recharge .

Ac compressor cycling with no cool air blowing inside

Depending on how much freon is in the system, it could be a faulty low pressure switch or a faulty clutch.
You would jumper the low pressure switch to eliminate it for a test.

DTC 1784: LOW-REVERSE PRESSURE SWITCH
1.Remove transaxle relay from connector. Turn ignition on. Install scan tool and observe low-reverse pressure switch condition. Apply battery voltage to transaxle relay connector terminal No. 8. If low-reverse pressure switch stays off, go to next step. If low-reverse pressure switch turns on, go to step 4 .

2.Raise vehicle enough to allow drive wheels to spin freely. Test low-reverse clutch hydraulic pressure. See HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TESTS under TESTING. If low-reverse clutch pressure test is not within specification, internal transaxle failure exists. If low-reverse clutch pressure test is within specification, observe scan tool.

3.If low-reverse pressure switch turns on, trouble code is intermittent. Check wire harnesses and connectors for damage or poor connection. If low-reverse pressure switch does not turn on, replace solenoid and pressure switch assembly. Recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace TCM.

4.Check and repair wiring harness between transaxle relay connector and solenoid and pressure switch assembly connector. If wiring harness is okay, check wire between TCM connector terminal No. 10 and solenoid and pressure switch assembly.

5.If wire between TCM connector terminal No. 10 and solenoid and pressure switch assembly is okay, check TCM and solenoid and pressure switch assembly connectors. Repair connectors as necessary. If connectors are okay, recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace solenoid and pressure switch assembly. Recheck trouble codes. If trouble code resets, replace TCM.

P0700-The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transmission control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. The ECM stores the P0700 code and it means the TCM detected a malfunction with the transmission controls.

I would try disconnecting he battery and letting it sit for 5 minutes, then hook it back up to see if they return-the 700 code is probably related to the 1784 code, that seems to be your main issue.

1992 c 1500 the ac compessor has no elect. getting to it.is it the low pressure switch?

It could be several things,I would check the fuse with a test light, the low pressure switch, the connecting

molex plug that connects to your low pressure switch could be bad and have a break on it.if all this is

okay, there is a high pressure switch at the ac compressor check to see if it has voltage. whenever you

change out the ac compressor it is recommended that you change out the high pressure switch. hope

Iam wanting to purchase a 2005 santa fe 2.7motor.the vehicle i road tested the oil light stays on

either low oil pressure or oil pressure switch faulty.Get it tested before purchasing as low oil pressure would have caused some wear and tear in the engine.If just a faulty switch then should'nt be a big deal.Get a compression test done also.

Getting a "Low Oil Pressure" message on the dash board.."Turn off engine" any ideas of what the problem might be?

Hi. This issue has several causes, but the oil light indicator is a strong sign of low pressure in the engine. This will cause the engine lubrication rate to drop, thus, producing a illuminated oil light, and erratic Oil pressure readings. The necessary actions are to have a manual oil pressure test ran on this engine, asap. When running a manual oil pressure test, you will discover if the true oil pressure is low, or normal. If the test proves that the oil pressure is, indeed, low, this will confirm that the Oil pump is suspect.

Now, if the true readings given during the manual oil pressure test are indicating that the pressure is normal, this will be the result of a failed sending unit(oil pressure switch).

What does a low oil pressure alarm mean

It means the sensor that detects your oil pressure has seen a situation where the oil pressure is too low and engine damage will result. Could be just a bad sensor, but better have it checked with a mechanical gauge to see exactly what the pressure is.

99 olds aurora ac issues

Both switches are simple on/off, so you can test with an ohmmeter or just bypass with a paper clip. See your diagram at the link below.
