I have a 2002 Dodge Caravan SE and over the last couple of days sometimes there would be heat while other times there would not. All of a sudden yesterday there is only cold air coming out. Also at the same time the I can only get air to come out on the highest setting. Any ideas?

I have a 2002 dodge caravan and only cold air blows through any setting its on.

The thermostat is ok and the engine is not heating up I was told by a couple of firends and mechanics that the blend door is either broken or stuck open and to get to this part is about 4 hours because you have to remove most of the dash board and also the glove compartment and drain air conditioning etc,

Please let me know if there is a better solution.

Have a 1998 dodge caravan blows cold only new thermastst flushed system new anti freeze help

Most likely the problem is a broken blend door inside the heater box or a broken adjuster cable going to the blend door, the blend door inside the heater box is responsible for heater output depending on your temp adjustment on your heater control panel, most likely the blend door is stuck in the cold position allowing cold air to come through the vents verses allowing the blower motor to blow warm air past the hot heater core to produce heat, check the temperature adjuster cable behind your heater controls and make sure its connected and not broken, lastly make sure the blend door isnt broken and operating freely.

I am handicapped and i am having a problem with the air cond. sometimes it is so cold but it all of the sudden it blows warm air i hit the air button off wait a min and turn on then air works about a min...

Hi my name is Tom and I am handicapped also. I can help you.

Blowing very cold and then warm air is the classic sign of low refrigerant(R135, etc.) in your system. Have a licensed air conditioner agent check out your system. This can get expensive,b but so is putting coolant in every other day.

Best wishes. If I can be of further help, let me know.

2007 grand caravan heat takes about 10 minutes plus to get warm-is this normal? It actually blows cool air for that long, but eventually blows hot air. Replacing the thermostat which might have been...

sounds like you have a actuator problem or the heater core may be stoped up check and make sure actuator is moving if not replace

make sure both heater core hoses are hot to touch at operating temp if both are not hot replace heater core

and of course check your coolant/antifreeze and insure it is full no water no heat

Cabin Heat is Intermittent / Fluctuates / Cycles

You may have air trapped in the lines to or from the heater core.
If you (still) have a real radiator cap on the radiator, remove it with a cold engine, start and run the engine allowing it to warm up while watching the water/coolant level. Make sure the heater control is set to its highest heat setting while doing this. If it is trapped air, you may see it 'belch' after the engine is warm and the engine thermostat is open. Refill as needed if this is the case.
It's more difficult without direct radiator access and may require several cycles of hot/cold to allow refilling through the overflow.

My heater in my dodge caravan does not blow hot air. When my engine finnaly heats up, it blows only warm air. Its a 2006

First of all make sure your anti-freeze is at specification level's as well as make sure With the engine cold start the vehicle remove the radiator cap and make sure you see the flow of anti-freeze while keeping your hands as well as your clothing away from moving parts feel both hoses going into your heater core if the one on top of hot one on the bottom is cold then you have a Clogged heater core in which case you will need to flush the system . a simple garden hose will do the trick simply remove Both hoses to the heater core with the hose at the bottom line apply the garden hose until liquid comes out at the top of the other hose will probably see a lot of gunk. Also ensure that the vacuum line to the round ball under the hood is connected and not dry rotted.this will cause a vacuum leak to not allow the switch to fully engage from cold to hot. I hope this helps you.

2002 caravan, heater problems

That was a common complaint a few years back, due to the fact that the heater core is a little too much higher than the engine, which requires that extra push it gets when engine RPM's increase. One thing I did do on my Caravan was remove my hoses to the heater core, and use a small external pump with hoses to circulate C.L.R. through my core for a while, then let it sit with CLR in the core overnight.Next day I circulated it through again, both ways by reversing hoses, and then re-attached hoses, bled air out of system, and notice quite an improvement in heat at idle. Once cleaned out, the heater core allowed coolant flow through it better at idle. If your stumped by explanation, take it to an automotive shop, or a Rad shop, and get a quote on flushing that core out for you. I recommend the CLR, but it might be too time consuming for you , but a flush will probably show some noticeable improvement.

misty check the water level in the radiato...if it is low the last thing to get any water is the heater core..if low you will need to find the reason...like a water pump or headgasket leaking
