Question about 2002 Honda Civic

2002 Civic EX wont accelerate

My 2002 honda civic which has been working really well. Now its having a really really hard time accelerating. No matter what the temp outside is or of the car etc. I can't get above 60, its getting to 4000 RPMS to get up to 20 MPH. It's an automatic. The only other thing is a creaking noise when i turn the wheel, but that's been going on a while. I don't know if the two are related. Dropped it off today but i guess they probably wont even get to checking it out. 70,000 miles.

It sounds like a problem with the transmission. The creaking could be a bad power steering pump or simply a dry/leaking rack & pinion.

Here's a link to changing your water pump,do you have the timing set correct, sounds as it's not.Your spark plugs may be fouled, check and see what they look like,if it's fouled, gas on them, then timing needs to be reset. SAVE 20 GET BONUS 10 GIFT CARD ON ONLINE SHIP TO HOME ORDERS OF 100 OR MORE

go to translate the website, with your browser and get the topic and fix it.Will be a good idea to RUN the scanner +computer for to see if there are some SENSORS faulty.

96 honda civic sputtering now is not accelerating at all

Your timming belt has jumped a tooth.Remove the covers and check that all teeth are ok.Then tighten or change the timming belt.I would fit a new timming belt.Has it is costly when they fail.Good luck.pippall.

I have acceleration problems at times here and there.

sounds like a spark plug/ spark plug wire problem. i would change the plugs and wires this is a cheap fix and can be done with little effort.

99 civic ex misfiring

hi there, it could be several different things try these -check the idol air control valve first. try taking off with a\c going and with the a\c off and see if there a differance, if there is, i'd definatly have it checked or replaced. another idea is have the catalitic converter checked, if its clogged you would have bad acceleration, wont idol right, you can check yourself with a vaccum gauge, just connect it to the service port or where the pcv valve connects to the intake and crank up the car and watch the gauge, when you accelerate the vaccum will decrease and let off the accelerator, then watch the guage if it comes back to vaccum very quickly your catalitic converter is good, and if comes back slowly than you have a problem, its clogged
