Question about 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada
The starting problem sounds like a weak fuel pump not having enough pressure to open the injectors on start up, this a common problem with these trucks. The pressure required to keep it running is lower than the pressure required to start it. You should be able to start it back up when it is warmed up but not on a cold start. These are the symptoms of a weak pump and they will only get worse. Your heating problem may be an air pocket in the heater core this is a known problem on the S-series. Try to elevate the front of the vehicle as high as you can then turn on the heat and try reving the motor if the air pocket is your problem this should take care of it.
