Question about 1991 Jeep Cherokee Briarwood
We changed all the spark plugs in our 91 jeep cherokee but don't have the owners manual or diagram to put all the plug wires back on in the correct order. Now it wont start can you show me a diagram of where each wire goes?
The firing order is on the manifold....front calendar is #1, so remove the spark plug from #1 and using a screwdriver in the spark plug hole slowly rotate the motor BY HAND until you feel the piston come up to the top dead center position. remove the distributor cap, notice where the rotor is pointing, attach your plug wire for #1 to the closest point to the tip of the roter. and attach the rest in a clock wise direction in the order that is printed on the manifold...that should help. if it won't start, or spits and backfires, it is 180 out. remove the plug wires except the#1 wire, with them all out now move the one remaining wire to the spot directly across from where it currently is, and re-wire the rest, that should work. good luck.

For a 4 the firing order is 1234 front to back and the distributor fires clockwise. Find one and run wires from there.
For a 6 its 123456 front to back and is also clockwise.
