Question about 2000 Chevrolet Blazer
You asked me to give more detail here is what I have.....The book says in Neutral doing 5 mph or slower hit the switch on the dash and you should just shift into hi or low. Well it will not shift out of 4 hi at all. I tried the fuse I tried to reset it by taking cables off battery and still nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bibiana
The only way these will shift into 4WD low is if you are in neutral. NEVER shift from hi to low range if the vehicle is moving. I am guessing you can not shift out of 4wd hi into 2wd either. Your problem could be either the switch on the dash or the encoder motor on the transfer case. When you hit the switch do you hear any clicking going on under the vehicle or do the lights on the switch flash? These had very common problem with encoder motors going bad. If it is that it usually costs around $450 - $550 to get fixed at a shop, more at a dealer.
