2000 Nissan Altima_Driver side wiper won't work

The driver side winshield wiper won't work while the passenger side is working fine. What could be causing that?

It was the linkage arm. I just replaced it (only $14 from a dealer) and my driverside wiper is working again. Thanks for the advice.

Passenger side wiper stopped going to proper spot...then had oil changed and wiper got stuck under hood . now nothing works, moter for wiper is shot.

Check the wiper fuse...if functional you will have to remove, and replace the passenger side arm starting in the down position...be sure to turn off the wipers before turning off your car...hope this helps.

Winshield wiper won't work

This may be a linkage problem. The linkage is what keeps the wipers in sync and from your description that may be where the problem is

The windshield wiper driver side does not move. Passenger side does. How do I get to it?

The wiper motor must be directly linked to the passenger side wiper, and the driver side wiper gets its action from the passenger motion. probably the linkage from passenger wiper to the driver side wiper must be the problem. Under the dashboard you can check it, the linkage must be snapped off. (safety first)

I cannot find the VIN number for the 1997 Nissan Pulsar

It's in the door pillar driver door open at the bottom edge. it's also near the winshield pillar driver side on the top of the dash its so close to the pillar it's hard to read Altima is the same. on the firewall under the hood theres a stamped data plate next to and a little behind the wiper motor and wire harnesses hard to read also

Driver Side wiper not working

The most likely cause is the nut at the base of the wiper arm. If it is loose it can cause this problem. If that is not the problem then the next thing that would probably cause it is wiper linkage that is worn out and has become disconnected.
