Hi!how to check fuel pump work or no. rav4 54reg.

If the engine runs the pump works. Try this. On the starter motor there is a small diameter wire that can easily be removed. Pull this wire off the starter and hold the key in the start position. The starter will not operate. Listen for the fuel pump to see if it's running while you hold the key in the start position. If you can hear the pump running then it's ok. This trick works if you ever run out of gas too. It will run the pump until gas pressure is back so you don't have to run the battery down trying to start an out of gas engine.

Oil light and ticking sound

Low on oil?
Wrong weight of oil?
Tired engine?
Bad oil pump, plugged passages that feed the lifters.
Dirty oil.
Have the oil changed .
70,000 miles or more? Use "high mileage" oil. 10-30 is fine.

Oil light is on

check oil level on dipstick under hood with engine off. oil level will show on dipstick when removed.add oil as needed,DO NOT OVERFILL 1/4 inch low can be 1/4 quart low on oil. add oil as needed oil light comes on when low on oil,,,,,,worst case is no oil pressure,,,if oil is full,,DO NOT START AS YOU MAY HAVE A BAD OIL PUMP in which case if you run engine,,it blows.. if you have a oil light, check oil 1st,than if it's full, check oil sending unit,if good then move on to oil pump,,,,thank you for choosing fixya.comk

The car stoped sudnely lubricating. We thout at first tha the pump is not working properly. We took out the the pump and we have already the new pump. the thing is if the will work or not. We dont know if...

So how do you know its not lubricating? usually by the time people figure out there is a problem, the engine is trashed. were you driving with the oil light on? So you say the oil pump is out? if so, whats wrong with it? If theres nothing wrong with it, There could be a LOT more problems. But if its apart you need to check all you can NOW. you have more looking to do. This is a job for a pro, or the dealer.

We just purchased a 2002 Rav4 with 98,000 miles on it. After 85 miles of driving, the check engine light came on. What are some things we can check BEFORE we take it in for the diagnostic?

Midas and auto-zone will do a free diagnostics free if the ck engine light comes on usually its the o2 -sensor , try removing the + positive terminal on the battery for a few minutes then reconnect it should reset the OBC and the light should go out if it re appears you need to understand why like i said a Midas will give you a Free diagnosis of your issue ....look for the obvious such as the oil as well as all fluid levels and cracked or dry rotted vacuum lines etc.

OIL LIGTH

TRY TO REMOVE THE OIL FILLER CAP WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING, IF THERE IS SPRINKLING OF OIL THAT YOU WILL NOTICE THEN MAYBE THE OIL SENDER IS NOT WORKING BUT IF THERE IS NO SPRINKLING OF OIL THEN MAYBE TRY TO REPLACE YOUR OIL FILTER IF IT IS NOT YET WORKING MAYBE THE OIL PUMP IS NOT WORKING TRY TO REPLACE IT,YOU CAN SEE THE OIL PUMP WHEN YOU REMOVE THE OIL PAN.
