There is a piece of land which backs onto our front garden fence. This belongs to a property on Mountsorrel Lane in Sileby. Unfortunately the way the land the properties relate on this particular road is unusual in that the land is NOT immediately behind the house. In fact, this particular property owner will have to come out of his house, along the pavement, down a alley, past two other properties to enter his piece of land. Consequently he ignores it and it has become overgrown to such and extent most of the garden is covered in bramble. Last year it broke our fence. We took the fence down and trimmed back the bramble by about 6 foot. We did not know who the land belonged to. We then had the person rented the property knocking on our door accusing us of criminal damage! After a reasonably long conversation he agreed that we could continue cutting back the bramble and tend to the land and make good and use for our own purpose. He was not certain it was his land at this point. Two days later, after cutting back more bramble and taking it to the local skip in our car at our expense, he put back his piece of fence, which was the original iron fencing from many years ago and made it clear we were not to continue. I wrote to him and the owner of the property whose details I got by paying for a search offering to either purchase the land, use the land and keep it tidy with his permission or requesting that he puts the land in good condition so that not further damage occurs to our property. I received no reply but I do know the letters arrived as I sent them recorded to be signed for. There is now a very large tree which has shot up from a seed and is situated between our fence and his and is pushing the fence over. I have approached the county council but they say they cannot help us unless we can prove there is a health hazard! There is a corpse of a cat on the other side of our fence which has landed in the bramble and it is obvious by the way it is laying that it died due to not being able to free itself on a very cold winters night. We are left with no further options and short of pouring weed killer over the fence, which may in turn damage all our plants in that area of our garden we are at a loss as to how to tackle this problem. Unfortunately it is not managed by an agent, so I don't have that avenue to travel either. Any help or suggestions as to what to do would be very gratefully received.
Truly, if you have reported everything accurately, you have done an admiral job of trying to rationally and generously deal with a difficult problem. Take all of your documentation that you have, including the receipts for the letters you sent. Hopefully you have copies of the letters you sent the landlord, if not, then resend similar letters and keep copies, making sure you get the signed receipts, then TAKE ALL THIS TO A SMALL CLAIMS COURT and ask the clerk what form/s you should fill out to take this person to court. The court will hear your case and look at the evidence you present. It seems that you have a very good case to obtain a court order, enforced by police, for the landlord to co-operate with you. Before you do anything, make sure you have copies of the letters you sent to the landlord explaining your position and what you are willing to do to resolve the problems. When you have that in your possession, AND ONLY THEN, and he doesn't reply, send him another registered letter that requires his signature, informing him that you have no choice except to bring him into court. MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A COPY OF THAT LETTER TOO. THAT may be enough to get him to co-operate with you. If not, take him to court.....you should win, if justice and integrity prevail.
Thanks I was beginning to think I was on the wrong site! Your advice is reassuring. It has been a frustrating time and we are really fed up with the mess.I will do what you have suggested thanks very very much.
You're very welcome. It's just sad that things became mre difficult as time went one. You bent over backwards to resolve the problems, and spent considerable time and money trying to get things to work rationally. Some people see ONLY to respond to force or negativity. The best of luck with everything.........Solomon
i mean went on....
I really should proofread what I write......some people seem ONLY.........
thanks will keep you posted

I had the same problem on a 2003 Kia Sedona where the front end would vibrate excessively while accerating at freeway speeds. Over time it got worse and was noticable at lower and lower speeds and while just maintaining speed, but went away when I took my foot off the gas.
It turned out to be the inner CV joint on the passenger side. You can check for this by grabbing the inner and outer half axels with large vice grips or slip-joint pilers and turning them in opposite directions while listening for crunching or "loose parts" noises.
The CV is sold with the axle so I just bought the outer half axle for $80 (which has the inner and outer CV joints attached) and replaced it. If you do it yourself, make sure you have a ball spline fork, a hub puller tool, and a big torque wrench for putting the bearing assembly back on. You can rent these at AutoZone.
The bad CV joint also caused the bearing to go bad. It had burn marks and made a grinding noise while turning. It was very hard to get out, so I had to take the assembly to a machine shop to have it taken out and the new one put in. $35 for bearing and $30 for machine shop work.
After repair, I took an 800 mile road trip that weekend with no problems other than barely noticable vibration from the driver side at 70+ mph. I figure vibration was so bad pre-repair that it messed up something on the other side as well, so I'll check out the driver side bearing and CV when I get a chance.

Overdrive is long legged gearing and is designed for high speed cruising or speeds . Keeping it in drive keeps the trans from constan up and doe shifting. which it will do. besides being in 3rd gives you better response at low we speeds. and OD can waste fuel at low speeds because of constant up and down throttling. Good luck. It's basically a gear just to keep the car rolling when cruising.
