BLOWERMOTOR

Is there a blower resistor module and/or relay? The blower resistor module often has a zener diode that burns out over time.(If you find this issue, see if you have a plugged up cabin air filter also).

Is it a one ton truck, or a Blazer with a V6 engine ??
The one ton truck with a 350 engine should have a coil and module mounted on the intake near the distributor.

Heater and ac work fine but only for about 20 min then the air stlops flowing.

The heat stops flowing this means the air stops blowing. i would say this is one of two things if its the air that stops blowing, this would be a bad blowermotor or the blowermotor resistor, the most common problem i would say is the resisitor, good luck, hope this is helpful.

1998 Metro Starts hard, runs or a little then stalls and very hard start?

When was the last time you had a tune-up? It can be a ton of things wrong. Start with the obvious things first, or the cheapest to check.
First off, how long does it actually run good for, once you get it started?
That in itself, means alot.

My 1998 Chevrolet Malibu will not go into drive possibly due to the transmission overheating. Once the engine cools down, I am able to put into drive. Also the gears tend to slip.

Likely you are looking at this backwards. Slipping causes a ton of heat. Slipping is caused by worn seals inside the transmission that allow pressure loss and partial application of drive clutches which then slip. Only way to fix this is a rebuild. I know this is not what you wanted to hear but that's just the way it works!!!

Power window & blowermotor

Under the hood in the fuse block #13 is the relay for your blower motor. If you have someone turn the HVAC blower on while you have your hand on it if it's functioning you can feel a click from the relay. I would check there
