1)check for power at your "radio"and"signal"fuses with a test light. (asuming your "indicaters"are the signals) -watever it is,check for power at it's assigned fuse first, with ignition in "on"or"run"position. if it's not getting power, you may have a broken wire,OR a bad ignition switch!

My son reversed the terminals on his 1986 Nissan King Cab 4x4. All works now but the Battery light on the dash is dimly lit and the radio dose not work. I checked the fuses on the inside panel and all seem...

if the battery light is on when the engine is running you may have damaged the voltage regulator in the alternator, as for the radio it has certainly sustained serious damage,it might be cheaper to replace than to repair......hope this helps....cheers

Well since the lights are controlled by the OBD (on board diagnostics), you'll have to reset it. You may be able to do this by simply disconnecting the battery for a few hours. However, a lot of newer vehicles have electronically locked radios which require the manual to be able to be re-enabled.

I'd check out the radio before disconnecting the battery.

The only other ways are to physically disconnect the lights in the dash or get someone with an OBD reader to clear the codes.
