Brake light on my instrument panel

I have a 2001 dodge ram 3500 5.9l i went down a sheet of ice and slammed on the breaks and my break light on the dash came on which i understand is part of the abs. but after reseting the truck by turning it off my brake light is still on i checked the fluid and its suppose to be right where it is i was wondering if anyone else has some trouble shooting ideas. i also tried seeing if there was any codes in the computer and everything checked out

This may also be a waring to let you know that you need new break pads this is easy to check

  1. jack up your car and take one of the front wheels off
  2. near the disk that you can see there is a thing called a caliper
  3. in between there and the caliper look to see if there is anything there
  4. if there is it should not be any thinner the 5mm
if there is no pads you can be up for lots of money if you drive around
your disks will have grooves in them which is not good and you rick boiling your break fluid

if this dose not help then one of the sensors could be broken or the control unit could be busted

My back breaks doesn't work on my 2001 dodge ram 1500

Pull the bleeder out and get someone to mash the brake pedal down. If it blast out put it back in and then tell your helper to let the brake pedal back up. Keep doing this until you have all new brake fluid coming out . If it is still plugged up you will have to take out the brake pad pistons and clean everything inside. Make sure the bleeder is clean inside.

My truck leaks brake fluid after being shut off?

i think there could be air in the system and it takes a little while to work back to the reservoir and the release of the air is pushing out the fluid. try bleeding the entire brake system from each wheel to the master cylinder see if it stops it

2001 cougar coupe instrument panel went dead while I was driving. All fuses are fine and the lights around the top work but the gauges and digital display do not

Hello! There is a flexible flat connector that supplies the instrument panel...
They are well known to break at the point of the connection...If you can remove the instrument panel and inspect it with a bright light; Look for a solder break where the Orange wire (power feed) enters the panel...
