Last week I started to hear this override noise that isnt too loud but still noticeable. It occurs when I am going about 1000/2000 rpms when I accelerate, goes away at around 30 mph and then I release the gas pedal the noise returns. What could it be?

I would run some engine diagnostic tests to determine if it is an engine problem. Then I would aim to look at the transmission system. This also involves looking into the transmission's computer. You need to take it to a shop that has a scan tool that can scan the transmission control system. A lot of the BMW have advanved logic in the computer and the average shop will not have the tool. You will probably have to take it to a bimmer dealer.
