Easy to change a lower timing belt cover gasket on a 1990 Honda Accord

Depends on what you call easy and if you are mechanically inclined. First jack up the vehicle, remove the tire, remove the inner fender cover to accessthe balancer pulley. remove the drive belts, remove the crankshaft bolt and the remove the pulley. Then remove the bolts holding the lower timing cover in place. Install in reverse order. Average time to replace the cover is about 2 hours.

Harmonic balancer /water pump

most water pumps I believe have a weep hole that drips out coolant basically letting the person owning the car know that it is time to change the water pump. but then again have you checked to see if the water pump hoses are secure and aren't cracked?

Harmonic balancer standing still while car is running

Are the belts completely still while running? If not the balancer might actually be spinning fine and just look still because it is spinning fast enough (a friend of mine came to me with the same thing). Looking at the 1990 harmonic balancer the only thing that would seem to cause that is if the bolt wasn't tight enough or somehow went bad, in which case only the bolt would spin. Or the alignment piece (a small metal bit on the back side) had the dual function of traction and broke (don't lose this bit if it's not broke). Or something more serious involving what the bolt threads into. By the way you will need a special tool to remove the harmonic balancer if you plan to do that.

How do i change the water pump which way does the pulley screw on the harmonic balancer turn in order to loosen the pulley?

You need a harmonic balancer puller to remove the harmonic balancer. Most auto parts stores that offer loaner tools will have one for you to use and they should have directions if you've never used one before. To replace a water pump, first drain your coolant, remove belt, unbolt and remove water pump, scrape old gasket material from block surface. Place your bolts into new pump, slide gaskets over bolts then attach to engine, reverse other steps, make sure to close radiator petcock (drain valve) fill with 50/50 coolant mixture and start your vehicle to make sure gaskets aren't leaking any coolant

Honda timing belt

To loosen this bolt, you will need to turn counterclockwise. These are usually extremely tight.

Harmonic balancer - honda 2.2 liter

hey
Remove the bolt in the crankshaft then use a puller to remove the rest of the balancer. Sometimes they come off without a puller.
