Our van will not start, and we think it's the fuel shut off switch, can't find the location of it. No owners manual was provided when we bought it. When turning the key forward, you don't hear the fuel pump, it happened very suddenly. Can anyone help?

Where is the emergency fuel shut off valve for a 1998 ford windstar van

The fuel pump inertia switch is located on the passenger side foot-well an the A-Pillar. You may have to remove the trim panel to gain access. Your owners manual will show you specifically where it is. If you do not have one you can find one at ford.com. Just click the Owner link and look for manuals.

2014 F150 WONT START AFTER LEFT T BONE COLLISION CANT FIND INERTIA SWITCH HAVE TURNED KEY ON AND OFF LIKE MANUAL SAYS ALSO GUAGE WONT WORK

Common Locations
  • Although the location of the shut-off switch varies by year and model, Ford has stuck with a few common spots over the years. If you own one of Ford's pickup, SUV or van models, you can find the shut-off switch under the dashboard on the passenger or driver side, depending on what year it was built. If you own one of Ford's car models, you may find it located in the trunk compartment. Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for the exact location.

1989 f-250 inertia fuel shut-off switch switch location

This should be in the owner's manual. I found the below on autozone.com, their repair help location:
An inertia switch is used as a safety device in the fuel system. The inertia switch is located in the cab, generally under the dashboard on the right side. It is designed to open the fuel pump power circuit in the event of a collision. The switch is reset by pushing each of 2 buttons on the switch simultaneously (some models use switches with only one reset button). The inertia switch should not be reset until the fuel system has been inspected for damage or leaks.
When the ignition switch is ON , it turns the EEC power relay ON . The EEC power relay provides power to the powertrain control module (PCM) and the control side of the fuel pump relay. Power for the fuel pump(s) is supplied through a fuse link or high current fuse attached to the starter solenoid (battery side). From the fuse link or high current fuse, current flows through the fuel pump relay and inertia switch to the fuel pump(s). The fuel pump relay is controlled by the PCM.
When the ignition switch is turned ON , the fuel pump(s) will operate. If the ignition switch is not turned to the START position the PCM will shut the fuel pump(s) OFF after 1 second. The PCM will operate the fuel pump(s) operate the fuel pump(s) when the ignition switch is turn to START position to provide fuel while cranking.
After the engine starts, the PCM will continue to operate the fuel pump(s) unless the engine stops, drops below 120 rpm or the inertia switch is tripped.

1997 ford escort 55 van location of fuel cut off switch

Hi there:The fuel pump shut-off switch stops the fuel pump when the vehicle has been involved in a collision or major jolt. If the vehicle does not start, it is possible that the fuel pump shut-off switch needs to be reset.

If you see or smell fuel, do not reset the switch or try to start your vehicle. Have all passengers get out of the vehicle and call the local fire department or a towing service. This and other details could be find in the Ford Escort Owners Manual...

My van will not start, it was working fine, its not the battery or oil or coolant . A mechanic who looked at it said maybe there is a start kill switch or fail safe switch or something like that. I...

There is a "Kill switch" that shuts off the fuel pump whenever a crash is detected. It should be located where this is at in the owner's manual ... When you say "Kind of Loose" are we talking "I can rattle the key a bit" or "I can pull the key out with the ignition in the 'run' position" ?

Can you tell me where the emergency shut off switch is on the 05 ford fusion 1.4 petrol please? had a small tip last night and the engine wont fire.

Its in your owner manual, or go to motorcraft.com, pro center, tech info, owner manual and look it up.

FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH

This device stops the electric fuel pump from sending fuel to the engine

when your vehicle has had a substantial jolt.

After an accident, if the engine cranks but does not start, this switch

may have been activated.

The fuel pump shut-off switch is

located in the front passenger

footwell area in the right upper

corner.

To reset the switch:

1. Turn the ignition to 1 (LOCK).

2. Check the fuel system for leaks.

3. If no leaks are apparent, reset the

switch by pushing in on the reset

button.

4. Turn the ignition to 3 (RUN).

5. Wait a few seconds and return

the key to 1 (LOCK).

6. Make another check for leaks.
