check the ATC unit automatic transmission control unit by disconnecting the the on the battery wait a few mins. then re-connect and they to drive the car, should drive o.k. for a while then will go back to the way it was. this would indicate a faulty ATC unit. they run about $250. to $350. you do it yourself in 20 mins. and save up to $1500.
Your transmission shift solenoids(2) are bad or clogged up and may need cleaning. They are bolted onto the outside, front of the transmission. Have them checked out.
On my 1990 Accord Lx I have the same problem. My floor pan has a hole in it some where and my carpet gets wet which gets my computer wet causeing the "S" light to flash and then when my tranny shifts it skips 2nd gear.
it is situated in side the transmission oil pan, it is not a job you could do yourself if you need to ask that question. you need a hoist and some knowledge of trans missions, it is not dear to have it done.
