does the temp gauge or light come on? is the car over heating? .... oh and a starter can test fine when its cold, but the heat soak from the engine and exhaust affect it's performance drastically. it sounds like you need a new starter.
Well you need to do some investigating. You need to determine if it is ignition or fuel causing the problem. The cheapest way it to purchase a fuel injection pressure tester and hook it up leaving the guage where you can easily see it from the drivers seat. Take it for a ride til it acts up and watch the guage. If you lose fuel pressue then you got your issue. If not then you need to start testing individual ignition parts such as the ignition module and crank sensor
You better have the alterntor checked, you said the battery was putting out 12v. was that with the car running or off? If it was running, it should have pushing between 14 and 15 volts, if it wasn't with it running, replace alternator.
where is the battery and is there anything over the top of it if nothing over the top look down all 4 sides and look for a clamp with a bolt through the center probably 13mm loosen that bolt undo the terminals and lift battery undo the negative or black terminal first
