Question about 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

1 Answer

Passenger side power window will not go down.

This window was working a week ago before I loaned it to my daughter. Could she have inadvertantly tripped a window lock feature; or does this vehicle even have such a device?

The van could have a lockout feature (some came with it and some don't have it) and it should be referenced in the owners manual. It will be on the driver's side master panel (the one with all the switches) problem is, I have no info on how to unlock it. Does the window work with the passenger switch or from the master panel? There are separate circuit breakers on each window to keep one from taking both out. With key on accessory, (the radio should come on) try moving the passenger window switch back and forth 3 - 5 times quickly to see if that unlocks it.

Odds are she hit the switches in some combination and put the lockout into effect. I'd take it to a dealer and have one of the salesmen show you how to unlock it. Since they aren't selling cars these days, it will give them something to do.

My 2002 camry inside, dash lights went out, as well as my passenger side power window. What fuses and where?

Each window doesn't have it's own fuse, if all other windows work beside the passenger window it's ok to assume the fuse is good. It could be the window switches, wiring or the window motor or regulator. As for the dash lights, first make sure the dimmer isn't turned down all the way. It's a simple thing, but i've had a few customers come in with the same complaint and it turned out they inadvertently just turned the dimmer all the way down.

Front passenger side window quit working about a year ago. Driver window quit this week. Fuse? Motor? Help.

Sounds like a motor issue. Remove the door panel and check power to the motor whe the switch is pressed. If you have power in both directions the motor is bad.

Power window on passenger side fails to work with either button

The chances are if the window the other side is working ok then the fuse will be working also.
It could then be one of two things the cheaper option would be if the window control switch needs replacing as this is just a push in switch the operates the up and down on the window.
The other and more likely problem is going to be that the window motor has failed wether it has over heated or got water damaged you may never find out the cause.
Both of these problems are quick to replace so you shouldnt be without a car for more than a few hours depending on how busy the garage are.
Main dealers tend to charge twice as much as the smaller garages so be warned.
Let me know if you need further assistance

definatly no fuse try and swap the rear window swithes over and see if the other window works with that switch but my guess is that it is the regulator in the door not the motor ,that is the cablr that the motor wind up and down open the door cover and have a look at it

Passenger side window will not go down

Hi my name is Allen!
The problem you are having is a common problem with all Dodge Caravan's. But before we get into that lets make sure the child safety switch is not pressed downward on the drivers window switch if your vehicle has it. If that was not the problem then you will need a "Window Regulator" which you must get from the Dealership. If you need further assistance you may contact me through FixYa!

You may have inadvertantly locked the passenger windows by pressing the little button to the right of the door locks (on the driver side). It's a push to lock/push again to unlock type button, so try pushing it--if it stays down, then that wasn't the problem. If it comes up, then try the window. I hope that helps
