Question about 1996 Saab 9000

1 Answer

Head lights turn off when the car has been driven for about an ho

While driving the car for around an hour the head lights turn off for no reason. The Emergency flashers stop working. The High beams will not work intermittantly. These are all inconsistent but occur only after about an hour of driving the car. The lights are NEW. Is there a computer that controls these functions. The car has not been in accidents, the wiring harness under the hood appears to be in great shape for a 1996 9000. Any Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

I would try the computer management system
in these cars it can control everything
so yeah it could be the computer
if the battery is getting flat it would be your alternator if not i would say your computer

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Check your fuses first and then check your hazard flasher relay. As for your high/low beams, could be your head light switch itself.

Indicators, headlight, high beam, Heater showing strange behavior. Can you please suggest what could be the possible reason for it . BCM or Multi Function switch?

Hooking up an OBD2 reader will tell you right away if the BCM is shot or BCM. Take it to advanced auto or O'Riley's they will hook up a an OBD2 reader and tell you. Sounds like a faculty PCM and BCM to me or just faulty PCM since you've replaced the Body Control Module already.

2000 towncar signals stopped working?

There should be a turn signal fuse in the fuse box inside the car, and there is a flasher for the hazards and one for the turn signals.
Check your owners manual for more info.

2001 Pontiac Firebird has turn signal problem

The turns, hazards, high/ low headlamps, possibly cruise cont. and wipers, are all operated by the "multifunction switch". Replace it and you should be good to go. I hope this helps.
