Depends how much you like to gamble ? For $5 is it worth it? What if the oil is fine, but some dirt or other debris plugs your filter up & reduces your oil pressure? About 40 yrs ago, a guy from one of the oil companies lost his job over an interview where he said oil never loses its lubricity, so just change filter to keep oil clean, and add a quart then change oil every 2nd or 3rd time. My Father swore by that, because he was the one that read it, and he got 200,000 to 400,000 miles out of every car he did it to, and they were always running good when he traded or sold them, but today's engines aren't quite as sturdy as then, so my moneys on oil & filter as required.

I accidentally put automatic transmission fluid in the engine instead of engine oil. I have started the car, its a landrover freelander 1. Is it going to damage the engine and how do I drain it?

I'd drain it from the oil pan underneath the car. Fill it back up with engine oil and a can of Seafoam, drive it around for a day or 2 then drain it again. Replace the filter each time also. Think you'll be alright if you didn't do heavy driving with it in your engine.

Oil pressure too hight

If its a wiring or sensor issue you'll have a code up or the check engine light will be on. I'd start by getting an oil change and a good oil filter (not a Fram). Thinner oil should help lower the pressure. You should be alright if your pressure is under 60.

Why is my oil filter leaking onto my starter?

Check the seal on the oil filter. If the seal is torn or missing it will leak and the oil leak will cause loud noises when it's in gear.

While i was doing off road driving a warnning light (a/t oil temp) turn on, i looked underneath the car and i found oil leak drop after drop, not too sure now should I change the transmition oil and filter...

Change the transmission fluid and filter. The light says fluid temp. is high, so you may have some burnt fluid-deadly for transmissions. Drop the trans. pan and look for metal shavings-too much will indicate failure of transmission parts. If not too much, you may be alright with fluid and filter change.
Stop the leak,. make sure it is trans. fluid, not motor oil. If motor oil, stop the leak and change oil and filter. I would do the transmission regardless, since the light came on.

Have you changed your transmission oil and filter in a while? Would be a good idea to do so, hopefully you have caught this in time before it is a costly repair to you.

Oil filters

Alright,

On that motor the filter is "remote" from the engine. It is located under a plastic cover directly below the front bumper.

Good Luck
