no the car doesnt overheat. There isn't any air blowing out. can you tell me what i should do?? Do you think its a fuse?? Or the heater motor??

I had the same problem in my 2003 Sante Fe. The garage fixed it 5 times and it just has broken again. The last time the replaced the heater and the fan. That was only about 9 months ago. Is this a huge problem with Hyndai vehicles? They are now putting in a whole new heater and fan again.

Is the fan working and blowing air but there is now heat?

If there is no heat and air is blowing out check your radiator level. If the engine coolant is too low water will not get to your heater core. Remeber check the radiator level and not just the coolant reservoir. Becareful when working around a hot car. wait til the car cools down to check the level of the coolant in the radiator.

If there is no air being blown in to the cabin then check all of your fuses and relay box switches.

Also check the thermister and resistor they may be bad. They are located just above the actual blower. You will need a qualified person to check the resistor and thermister.

I do not know the location of these devices on your 2002 Sonata

Check your antifreeze it might be low. Also have the coolent flushed out. I might be a clogged heater core. Does the car overheat? The heat comes from the coolant through the engine, and a clogged heater core won't let the coolant through and no heat can be dispersed

Car wont start

Sounds like you have a shorted wire causing a drain. I recommend disconnecting the alarm all together which should stop the short so battery can remain fully charged.

My 2002 hyundai sonata, help:)

cold weather won't usually hurt anything in your heater, it will just take longer to warm up the cabin.

the lack of heat is a sign that you're probably not getting the proper circulation in your cooling system, that is, the radiator, anti-feeze/coolant, fan, etc.

bad circulation means your anti-freeze level could be low from a leak, or a hose that popped off. or you could have a bad water pump, which is what circulates the coolant through the engine and radiator, even though we don't use water anymore.

the solution is to have someone who knows how check the thermostat, radiator, coolant level, hoses, and water pump to make sure everything is working.

be sure to address the problem soon, because if it's a coolant system problem, the more your drive, the more damage your engien will suffer.
