check out the neutral saftey switch on trans, if its reporting unknown gear on scanner while moving t bar it wont know what gear to be in and give you similar problems, also has oil been leaking into switch before?
Try this select gear before starting the engine then start the engine if this helps then its a clutch fault.also try bleed out the hydraulic clutch.The slave cylinder on the gear box gave trouble on thease models ckeck that there is no oil leaking out of the cylinder..
Have a 2.6 with the same issues. only mine will almost always start after disconnecting the fuel line and reconnecting it. I have replaced the fuel pump, inline filter and pressure regulator. My car dog friends are telling me it's the injectors.
