Question about 1999 Mercury Cougar
Remove the carpet in like the trunk, and or lift the carpets in the interior, and look for a bare wire which may be shorting out to the body. or, look at the battery terminals, and look for some wire which seems to be extra, attached to the positive battery terminal, like an after market add on, and disconnect it.
