Question about 2001 Nissan Altima

1997 nissan altima cranks over but dont start sometimes once a we

It has a new fuel pump new fuel filter new spark plugs
go to store come back out it wont start until 8 hours later or the next day
it does this maybe once a week sometimes twice other than that it starts
up runs fine

    it's start just fine but some times i have to droped the gear to neutral so it could start, this hapen two ore tree times per week. in fact i also knowrest another problem the gear stick don't go down to first gear, but on drive it's work just perfect.....

If there is no spark to the plugs, you may have inadvertently blown a fuse for the ignition system when changing other parts. Check the fuses in the box under the dash or under the bonnet. Also have a look and make sure the little carbon brush pickup hasn't fallen out of the distributor cap. Its the little black thing in the middle inside of the cap. It is spring loaded and sometimes can fall out.

check your fuel rail for fuel pressure. see if your getting enough gas.

Where is fuel pump relay in 2000 nissan altima


It's located in the fuse box under your hood. Should be near the fender wall or the firewall

1997 nissan altima will not start


OK...Some cars use a "prime" relay and a "run" relay on the fuel pump. since manually priming it seems to work, I'd check and see if you have a similar system. If so, the prime relay may be bad.

your pick up coil or parts inside the distributor have failed you may have to check and replace some parts or maybe your whole distributor. sorry.

replace the distributor oil is leaking into the electronics of the distributor and shorting out pull cap back off and look and see if oil is leaking out

replace coil pack, or check fuel pump is working,worst case peplace ecu(engine management computor unit)check spark leads,and fit new spark plugs,discard all the ones in the engine ,thats in there,with new ones,,,,,,,
